Meet the MSA's team for the Fall 2022 term! May Allah ﷻ grant them strength in tending to the needs of the Muslim community of UW. May they preserve the inclusive space for students to create a sincere connection to our deen both on and off campus, may they maintain sincere intentions, and may they be rewarded immensely for their efforts. Allahumma ameen! 🤲🏻

Assalaamualaikum! I am honoured to be your president this semester. If you ever see me on campus, please do say salaam— it’ll make my day! I am responsible for determining the vision for this term’s UWMSA team, and making sure we hold true to that. I also enjoy talking with you all to see how we can better improve our services. A little about me, I love anime and anything to do with the outdoors— especially biking! I’ll finish my intro with a du’a that I have made many times since the start of September. It’s the same one that Ibrahim AS made as he was rebuilding the Kaaba with his son.
رَبَّنَا تَقَبَّلْ مِنَّآ ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
Rabbanaa taqabbal minna— innaka anta samee’ul ‘aleem
(Our Lord, accept [This] from us. Indeed, you are the Hearing, the Knowing.)
Assalamu alaikum everyone!!
Alhamdulillah for the opportunity to be a part of MSA again this term. This time around I’m responsible for booking rooms, keeping everything organized within the club, and overseeing the tech team’s development of our MSA website.
By coming to MSA events, I’ve met so many amazing and Islamically motivated people that I’m so thankful to be around that have encouraged me to have continual progress in my Iman. I’m forever grateful for the amazing sisters I have met here and for all the ones I’ll continue to meet inshaAllah:) So, I look forward to seeing everyone at our events; Insha’Allah it will be an impactful and memorable time!!
“And whoever puts all their trust in Allah, then He ˹alone˺ is sufficient for them. Certainly, Allah achieves His Will. Allah has already set a destiny for everything” [Quran, 65:3].
The education team manages educational events, prayer spaces, jumma, & social work initiatives. We will aim to optimise these outlets of goodness.
The MSA at its core is just the collaboration of Muslims to serve Muslims. So even if you are not a part of the “official team”, volunteer :) (link in bio)
You can catch me around SLC if you want to get to know me.

Jazak Allahu Khairan!
Assalamu alaikum! My name is Anam and I have the upmost honour and blessing of serving as VP internal for the second time this term alhumdulliah. My main role is to act as a communication between other organizations like the NCCM and OSP and maintain peace and prevent Islamophobia on campus. I’ve been involved with the MSA for the last year and it’s really allowed me to become closer to Islam and meet amazing sisters an also be a voice for them.
To all the sisters out there please don’t ever hesitate to reach out to me regarding any concerns you may be having or simply to get connected with a sister. May Allah reward us for our continued hard work and desire to become closer to the deen ameen.
“Stand up firmly for justice, as a witness to God, even as against yourselves or your parents or your kin, and whether it be against rich or poor” 4:135
This term marks one year since I joined the MSA, and to say that the MSA has had a huge impact on my life would be an understatement. I was a Muslim of weak faith who still struggles with his Imaan, but the MSA is what keeps my head screwed on. I hope the MSA can play that role for many others as well inSha’Allah!
Please do not hesitate to reach out to me for any purpose at all. It’s my duty as your VP External to ensure that I actively reach out to the community and promote a tight-knit community! If you think the MSA can work on any area or improve, please let me know! Don’t be a stranger!

My name is Lulu and this is my second term as VP of events alhamdulilah. Being a part of the MSA has been such a blessing.
As VP events I am responsible for planning and organizing all social events with the help of my amazing events team. Building a strong community where we can create connections while maintaining a state of remembrance of Allah SWT is a very important task as muslims. Insha’Allah through these events we are able to do so!
P.S. To all the shy people out there: I feel you but I promise coming to MSA events is so worth it.
Say, “Nothing will ever befall us except what Allah has destined for us. He is our Protector.” So in Allah let the believers put their trust. [9:51]
My name is Abdullah and I am the VP Finance for the MSA. My role critically assists the MSA by collecting fund for events and other projects the MSA works on.
Everything associated with the MSA is dependent on finance in one way or another. Let that be snacks for the lounge room or major fundraising events. All of this is connected to a small team, the Finance team. Although my role is significantly smaller than some others, I still take pride in it as without the Finance department, the MSA would not be able to deliver amazing events and opportunities to our muslim community.
So come on out to some MSA events and meet new people!
