For brothers and sisters. No prerequisites other than an intention to learn for the sake of Allah and a commitment to teach others once you become proficient.
The word Tajweed is a verbal noun from jawwada, which literally means to make better. Tajweed is one of the most prominent sciences of the Quran derived from the oral recitation of the Quran by the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
When Tajweed is observed, the reading will flow smoothly and eloquently. The reader will also be sure he is following the holy Prophet’s (PBUH) example by reciting the Quran just as the Prophet (PBUH) did and just as it was revealed to him – InshaAllah.
The teaching used in this course is in the Recitation of Hafs from his teacher Asim.
‘The best among you are those who learn the Qur’an and teach it to others’
– [ Sahih Al Bukhari vol 6, book 61, no. 5 ]
‘Aa’ishah (R.A), relates that the Prophet (SAW) said: “Verily the one who recites the Qur’an beautifully, smoothly, and precisely, he will be in the company of the noble and obedient angels. And as for the one who recites with difficulty, stammering or stumbling through its verses, then he will have TWICE that reward.” – [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]
