About Me
I’m in my second year of a Life Physics degree. I enjoy learning about cool stuff and helping others. If you catch me around say hi… I enjoy meeting new people.

Why did I join the MSA?
I’m out here trying to find Allah’s pleasure through serving His servants. I’m also drawn to stay involved with the MSA because some of the hardest working, sincere, and cool people I’ve ever met were through volunteering here.

Words of Wisdom
1) Read Qur’an daily.

2) Work hard, work smart, and trust that whatever happens in your life is Allah choosing the best for you… BECAUSE IT IS!

Surah Ibrahim, Verse 12:

“And what reason have we that we should not rely on Allah? And He has indeed guided us in our ways; and certainly we would bear with patience your persecution of us; and on Allah should the reliant rely.”

About Me
Salaam alaykum! I’m in my second year of studying Urban Planning. To sum up most of my interests, I enjoy seeking worldly and religious knowledge. Other than that, I’m an artist and also enjoy playing a variety of sports.

Why did I join the MSA?
I joined the MSA because I strongly believe that as Muslims we’re obligated to use our personal assets to benefit others and serve the community. I want to be able to help address the issues we see within our muslim community on campus and work towards solutions. I look forward to working with this exec team to create an even more welcoming, fun, and spiritually replenishing environment for the UW-MSA, insha Allah.

Words of Wisdom
“Then they will be asked ‘What is wrong with you? why do you not help each other?'” [37:25]

About Me
I’m in my second year, studying Kinesiology. My interests include poetry, studying, and being sarcastic. I love meeting new people, so if you see me, come say hi!

Why did I join the MSA?
Honestly, I wasn’t planning on joining the MSA, but as the months went on, all of my friends became members. I slowly realized that the MSA was filled with like-minded people, and I fit right in. I ended up becoming a general volunteer in my first year, and participated in events such as Islamic Awareness Week. Last term, I was also PR Officer! The people I meet here always remind me to strive to better my relationship with Allah (SWT), which is one of the main reasons why I continue to be a part of the MSA.

Words of Wisdom
[وَمَا تَوْفِيقِي إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ ۚ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَإِلَيْهِ أُنِيبُ – [11:88
“My success is only through Allah. Upon Him, I have relied, and to Him I return.”
Remind yourself this daily, and In Sha Allah, you will see success  🙂

About Me
I’m in my 3A term for Mechatronics Engineering. I love meeting new friends, and making some awesome meme-ories 🙂

Why did I join the MSA?
The Ummah is like one body- at least, it should be. In the West where there is no formally organized Muslim community, for those on campuses like ours, contributing
to strengthen the MSA is a step to facilitate and solidify the beautiful words of our beloved Prophet (saw). That’s why I joined.

Words of Wisdom
The Prophet (saw) spoke of empathy when he said: “The believers in their mutual kindness, compassion and sympathy are just like one body. When one of the limbs suffers, the whole body responds to it with wakefulness and fever.” (Bukhari)

We must work towards and reignite that sense of love and empathy!

About Me
I’m in my 3A term of Social Developmental Studies. I am specializing in Social Work and just started my minor in Studies in Islam. I have a special place in my heart for food and love the outdoors (except for when it’s winter).

Why did I join the MSA?
I love hanging out with people who value their relationship with Allah and are committed on striving towards Jannah and Alhumdulilah the MSA brought me that. I started as a general volunteer for IAW in Winter 2017, moved on to First-Year’s Lead in Fall 2017 and now the Secretary Alhumdulilah.

Words of Wisdom
Never give up on your relationship with Allah. If you fall short one day, get up and try again remembering that Allah will never put you through anything that you cannot handle (2:286). If you find yourself going through tough times, remember that Allah is molding you into a better version of yourself. Stay strong, and keep smiling 🙂

About Me
I am in my fourth year of AFM. I enjoy travelling, reading fiction and playing cricket

Why did I join the MSA?
I have been the treasurer of the MSA twice and have been involved in IAW and OSP as a volunteer and each of these experiences turned out to be extremely enjoyable. Also, as an AFM student, I enjoy dealing with finances and therefore I chose to run for the treasurer position this winter

Words of Wisdom
On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (RadhiyaAllahu ‘anhu) who said: The Messenger of Allah (SallaAllahu ‘alayhi wasallam) said, “Do not envy one another, and do not inflate prices for one another, and do not hate one another, and do not turn away from one another, and do not undercut one another in trade, but [rather] be slaves of Allah and brothers [amongst yourselves]. A Muslim is the brother of a Muslim: he does not oppress him, nor does he fail him, nor does he lie to him, nor does he hold him in contempt. Taqwa (piety) is right here [and he pointed to his chest three times]. It is evil enough for a man to despise his Muslim brother. The whole of a Muslim is inviolable for another Muslim: his blood, his property, and his honour.” [Reported by Muslim]
