    SLC Great Hall

    Lecture Description:

[Quran, 61:6] "And remember when Isa (Jesus) the son of Maryam said: O children of Israel! I am the Rasool (Messenger) of Allah towards you, confirming the Torah which came before me, and to give you good news of a Rasool that will come after me whose name shall be Ahmed (another name of Muhammad, meaning 'The praised one'). But when he (Muhammad) came to them with clear signs, they said "This is plain magic."

[Quran, 3:42] And (remember) when the angels said: "O Maryam ! Verily, Allah has chosen you, purified you, and chosen you above the women of the worlds."

[Quran, 3:45] (Remember) when the angels said: "O Maryam! Verily, Allah gives you the glad tidings of a Word ["Be!" - and he was! (i.e. Jesus)] from Him, his name will be the Messiah 'Isa (Jesus), the son of Maryam, held in honour in this world and in the Hereafter, and will be one of those who are near to Allah"

Muhammad: The Orphan Who Adopted the World (LIVE Lecture!)
--Sheikh Abdool Hamid, Imam of Islamic Institute of Toronto

    Wed Mar 7
    7:00pm-9:00pm
    RCH 307

    Lecture Description:

"O people! Muhammad has no sons among ye men, but verily, he is the Apostle of God and the last in the line of Prophets. And God is Aware of everything." (Qur'an, 33:40)

"All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over a black nor a black has any superiority over a white - except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood. Nothing shall be legitimate to a Muslim which belogs to a fellow Muslim unless it was given freely and willingly. Do not therefore do injustice to yourselves. Remember one day you will meet Allah and answer your deeds. So beware: do not stray from the path of righteousness after I am gone."
